Plus, Virtual classes create a safe space for new members to try out our classes and build confidence before trying a live class.

Classes

Les Mills Body Balance (55mins) Low-Moderate

Pre-choreographed Les Mills class combining elements of Yoga, Pilates, Stretching, Tai Chi & Meditation. This class helps to lengthen muscle, release tension & leave you with an overall sense of balance & calm. Body Balance is also available in Virtual and On Demand formats 55, 45 or 30-minute workouts.

Les Mills Body Pump (55mins) Moderate

Program is based on THE REP EFFECT: a proven formula that exhausts muscles using light to moderate weights, while performing high repetitions – the secret to developing lean, athletic muscle. At MALC we use SmartBars™, the latest in bar and weight technology. Body Pump is also available in Virtual and On Demand formats 55, 45 or 30-minute workouts.

Les Mills Body Combat (55, 45 or 30mins) Moderate-High VIRTUAL AND ON DEMAND SESSIONS ONLY

BODYCOMBAT™ is a high-energy martial arts-inspired workout. You'll learn how to punch, kick and strike your way to superior fitness and strength.

Les Mills Core (55, 45 or 30mins) Moderate-High VIRTUAL AND ON DEMAND SESSIONS ONLY

CORE™ provides the vital ingredient for a stronger body while chiseling your waistline. A stronger core makes you better at all things you do – it's the glue that holds everything together.

Les Mills RPM (50 or 30mins) Moderate-High VIRTUAL AND ON DEMAND SESSIONS ONLY

Immerse yourself on a journey of hill climbs, sprints and flat riding. In an RPM workout you repeatedly rotate the pedals to reach your cardio peak then ease back down, keeping pace with the pack to lift your personal performance and boost your cardio fitness.

 

FAQs

What should I bring with me to a class?

A gym towel, drink bottle, and plenty of energy.

What happens when I get into the studio?

After seeing one of our friendly Customer Service Officers for a ticket before you start a class, please ensure you are familiar with the air conditioning and fan switches, exit points, location of the duress alert and emergency procedures. We recommend you have the air conditioning on, set for 18 degrees and the fan as required. Minimal lighting is required for the class but turn on as many lights as you would like (less light will increase the perceived brightness of the screen). Please access any equipment required depending on the class you are participating in.

Can I participate in a virtual class if I have never done a live class?

Yes, you can participate in a virtual class if you have never participated in a live class. In fact, virtual classes can be an easy introduction to live classes.

If you have never participated in BODY PUMP or CORE before, please watch the instructional videos on the group fitness timetable screen.

A virtual instructor will provide all the instructions you need to participate in the session.

What equipment is needed to participate?

All the equipment required in the classes is located at the rear of the group fitness studio. Please remember to wipe down any equipment after use to leave them clean for the next user.

The classes below require the following equipment: 

BODY PUMP - Les Mills Bar, assorted weight plates, Les Mills step, 4x risers and a mat.

CORE 30 - Les Mills band or resistance tube, assorted weight plates and a mat.

BODY BALANCE - A mat.

BODY COMBAT - No equipment needed. 

RPM - Bike.

The length of time is optional.

Is participation safety monitored?

The group fitness studio is equipped with a duress alert for security and peace of mind. If you need urgent assistance while using a studio press the duress button located near the middle of the room between the mirrors.

Can I come into a class once it has started?

We recommend arriving at least five minutes before the commencement of a class to allow time to set up, view the pre-class safety information and participate in the warmup. Please avoid disrupting classes in progress.

Can I adjust the fans or the air conditioning during a virtual class?

Signage outlining operating instructions for air conditioning and fan use during virtual classes are located in the studio. Please consider the other participants before making any adjustments. If you switch on the studio air conditioning or fans, please switch them off after your class.

Can I offer virtual class feedback?

We welcome feedback about virtual classes on our timetable. Please speak to a staff member or complete a customer service feedback form at Customer Service. 

Do I need to do anything after the workout?

Please put away any equipment you have used and clean your workout station. Please leave the studio promptly as another class may be starting directly after the class you've participated in.

What age groups can access virtual classes?

Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to participate, and children aged between 12 and 15 years must be accompanied under the supervision of a parent or guardian to participate in Body combat, Body Balance, Core, RPM and Dance classes. Please note that children under the age of 16 are not able to participate in Body Pump classes.

What do I do if a virtual class doesn't start?

If your virtual group fitness session doesn't start, please let Customer Service know.
